Why is it that people post song lyrics in their journals/blogs?

I mean, I understand you like the song, but is it necessary to post the lyrics?

Journals of any form, internet, or otherwise, are meant to be your thoughts. Things that come out of your head. They aren't meant to showcase someone else's. Thats why they make music, or write their own journals.

Can we be a little bit more creative than using song lyrics to describe how we feel?
